Community Updates & Alerts

The Association of Block Clubs provides telephone updates bi-weekly to inform members about what's going on in their city, community, organization, or even block. ABC is committed to strengthening communities one block at a time and information serves as our mission's catalyst by getting people involved. Through this system individuals may post and receive information on events, jobs, classes, seminars, trips, shows, discounts, deals and much more. Subscribers may also select what type of information they would like to receive. ABC will provide this service free of charge until May 31st. Although this service is included in all ABC Memberships, a one year subscription for individuals to this service is only $10 if you sign-up and pay before May 31st. After May 31st there will be a an annual charge of $25.

Also, you can take your Community Watch to another level. Members will receive community alerts between the hours of 9:00 am and 9:00 pm as urgent events, that require police response, unfold. Subscribers may choose to receive red alerts in which they can be notified 24 hours a day should the community need assistance in forming a call tree to contact police for a more immediate response.

Community Leadership Training

Realizing the importance of developing our communities, The Association of Block Clubs provides a 10 week community leadership training course in which students learn how to promote social and economic advancement within their neighborhoods. The ABC leadership training is designed to encourage residents to develop basic organizational skills as an initial step toward the progression of their communities, demonstrate positive community impact and at the same time extend public awareness, enhance their personal skills, and promote volunteerism. Residents whom complete leadership training modules, earning 250 Community Service Hours, are honored by receiving VALOR (Visionary, Activist, Leader, & Organizer Recruit) Certification.
